The Cady Tucker Run in the Spirit is hosted by the nonprofit People Against Impaired Driving (PAID). Traffic fatalities are the leading cause of death in the United States for young people from ages 2 to 35. On August 15, 2002, at age 11, Cady was killed in a head-on collision caused by a driver with uncontrolled blood sugar two weeks before Cady would have started sixth grade. Also, because of lack of awareness, Cady was not given any emergency medical treatment. CPR/AED treatment would have given her a second chance at life. Cady was a talented runner, artist, classical guitarist, a voracious reader, and a flambouyant costume designer. Cady’s family established PAID to deter future highway deaths through raising awareness of the critical importance of driver fitness, emergency medical preparedness, and the willingness to act. Your check to PAID will help make this event an investment in the safety of our youth.
